Police Department

The Patrol Division is the largest division and considered the backbone of the police department. The Patrol Division consists of one captain, four lieutenants, four sergeants, and 32 officers. The Patrol Division is responsible for responding to all calls for service, enforcement of Criminal and City statutes and Codes, enforcing traffic laws, conducting proactive patrols, investigating criminal activity, working traffic accidents, and building community relations.

The Criminal Investigation Division is responsible for the investigation of certain crimes committed within the city limits of Jacksonville. It is the goal of our detectives to do everything possible within the law to solve each and every case assigned.
