JFD Takes Third Place in Statewide EMS Paramedic Competition!
I’m excited to announce that your Jacksonville Firefighters represented themselves in the most professional manner at the EMS conference in Hot Springs this past weekend. I witnessed eighteen EMS teams compete against each other in two different scenarios. One consisted of a Motor Vehicle Accident with three victims, including an infant. The other was an industrial accident consisting of a member with multiple traumatic injuries including an amputated leg. The competition was tough, tedious, and timed. The top three winners were separated by less than a point. We had two members compete in the Paramedic category. Please congratulate Chris McDonald and Clark Coleman for taking Third Place in a very tough statewide Paramedic competition! Chris and Clark demonstrated why the Jacksonville Fire Department IS the PRIDE of the City!

Justin Martin - Top of the Class!
Justin Martin is our recent graduate from the Arkansas State Fire Academy. It comes as no surprise that he received the Top Academic Honors for his graduating class!
It was an absolute honor to attend my first ASFA Graduation as the JFD Chief and present the Academy's highest award to a new member of our Fire Department family.
Firefighter Martin will continue training at the Academy for Driver Operator certification starting April 29th. He's already completed and been certified as an EMT.
He will then start his honorable career working under the leadership of Battalion Chief Joe Bratton, Red Shift, Central station.
I'm confident Firefighter Martin will adopt our culture of honor, integrity, service before self, and excellence in all we do. It's obvious that Justin already understands what's expected of him and demonstrated why Jacksonville Fire Department is the PRIDE of the City!
