In addition, he has also been selected for the National Society of Collegiate Scholars at the University of Arkansas due to his academic prowess. Few graduates at the 160 + graduating class received more than one honor announcement; however, Captain Jones received three! His hard work and dedication to excellence has been recognized by Battalion Chiefs Bob Thornton, Eddie Hill, and Joe Bratton. Please stop by the Fire Department Training office and thank him for representing our city with dignity and excellence. Justin Martin - Top of the Class!

Justin Martin is our recent graduate from the Arkansas State Fire Academy. It comes as no surprise that he received the Top Academic Honors for his graduating class!
It was an absolute honor to attend my first ASFA Graduation as the JFD Chief and present the Academy's highest award to a new member of our Fire Department family.
Firefighter Martin will continue training at the Academy for Driver Operator certification starting April 29th. He's already completed and been certified as an EMT.
He will then start his honorable career working under the leadership of Battalion Chief Joe Bratton, Red Shift, Central station.
I'm confident Firefighter Martin will adopt our culture of honor, integrity, service before self, and excellence in all we do. It's obvious that Justin already understands what's expected of him and demonstrated why Jacksonville Fire Department is the PRIDE of the City!
